Dated: In the spring of the year xinchou in the Guangxu era.
Inscription: a seven-syllable quatrain about a heron flying out of the mist at the moment in the evening when the artist was looking for a place to paint by the water.
Dedication after the inscription: In the year 1901 Shijun (courtesy name of Li Mingzhi) left for the south and asked me to inscribe this painting, which he painted for his brother Wenqing with his finger. And therefore I put a few verses together and dedicated it. Younger brother Shubi."
Inscription signed: Shubi.
