WU GUANZHONG (1919-2010)

Ink and colours on paper. Framed. Signed in the lower left corner: Tu (the artist's pen name). The primary themes of Wu Guanzhong were natural scenery and urban landscapes. In his work, he alternatively gravitated from ink painting to western techniques. In both modes, he developed his own unmistakeable style, culminating in colourful abstraction. In this painting, his later development can be clearly seen.
