Circle of Albrecht Dürer (1471-1528)

A Gothic panel painting represents the resurrected Christ offering a gesture of blessing, standing at the closed tomb. He holds a banner and is clad in a red cloak. On his feet and hands are visible wounds of the nails and on his right side the puncture wound delivered by Longinus’ spear. Sleeping soldiers lean against the tomb. The scene is completed with three women in the background, bringing aromatic ointments to anoint the body of Christ.
