GALERIE ARCIMBOLDO EXTENDS A CORDIAL INVITATION TO ITS UPCOMING AUCTION OF ASIAN WORKS OF ART
On Sunday *May 31, 2015 at 3:00 p.m.*, Galerie Arcimboldo will hold its 13th auction, *Asian Works of Art*, featuring 229 lots for sale.
The auction will present an exceptional collection of masterpieces of modern Chinese painting, including works by such renowned artists as Jiang Zhaohe, Qi Baishi, with seven works in the sale, Li Keran, represented by two scrolls, Xu Beihong’s Running Horse, and more.
The Chinese section is rounded out by a collection of high-quality jade, porcelain, and bronzes.
The Japanese section features a rare taima mandala from the Kaifukuji temple, a large bronze figure of Seishi, the bodhisattva of wisdom and strength, and an ivory okimono depicting the allegorical ”dashi” carriage, which received the prize for best exhibit at this year's Spring Antiques Fair in Prague.
